“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35

As Christians, we are called and charged to love and care for each other, bearing each other’s burdens and providing help for each other in times of need. Our Rose Hill deacons have this caring ministry as their primary mission, and the Parish Plan is the way in which our deacons engage every member of the church in that ministry of fellowship and support for each other.

The Parish Plan establishes parishes as local geographic areas surrounding the church. Rose Hill has seven parishes, each identified by a color. Every Rose Hill member in the Greater Seattle area belongs to the parish in which he or she lives. Our parishes help us to know which Rose Hill members live near us so that we can reach out to them in fellowship and provide help and support to those who have a special time of need.

What do Parishes Do?In addition to opportunities for fellowship, the kinds of assistance that our parishes can provide include help with meals, house cleaning, yard work, transportation, or childcare. Examples of when such help may be needed include when a church member is ill, has a critical family situation, is unable to drive, or is looking for work. Each parish has two co-leaders who act as contacts and coordinators for parish activities. Your parish leaders work together with members of your parish, the deacons, and the pastors and elders to see that parish needs are addressed.

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ Matt 25:40

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Acts 2:42-45
